Day Five In Naples // Our Last Full Day // Spaccanapoli Street // Grangusto

After last night's sickness I couldn't stomach breakfast so l slept in till like 12 in the afternoon, I felt so bad not getting up early because lt was our last day in Naples and I wanted to enjoy it but oh well. I eventually got up , had a shower and got ready.

We walked up some streets and came across a street lined with make up , clothes and shoe shops so it was like heaven :) I was walking pass them and Kiko caught my eye when l went into l expected it to be expensive but lt was actually really affordable and plus they had a huge sale so I kind of splurged on a good bit of make up. Kiko l found out is cruelty free so any of you who are looking for a cruelty free make up product this might be the one for you :)

After leaving kiko and then walking for a bit , l felt hungry so we dropped into this tapas bar , it was gorgeous and l had a sneaky sangaria with it as well which was delicious. I think it was called..... I will put a picture down below.

Next place we went to was Spaccanapoli Street, I loved this place , it was a long street filled with market shops and stalls with cheesy soveniers and things you can only get in naples. We stopped by a little shop and we tasted the most delicious ice cream , l got a pischachio and melon ice cream and stephen as usual got a chocolate ice cream, I would love to go there again . I will put up a picture of it for you.

Coming home we were exhausted , l collapsed on the bed but soon after l had recovered and then we decided to go out for something to eat for our last day . We didn't want to venture far because we had to be in bed early for our flight home early the next morning. We stopped by this restuarant / grocery shop called Grangusto , it was amazing , I kind  of wished that we had gone there on our last day. I found that it wasn't that expensive each meal was around 12 to 15 euros and the staff was very friendly , even though we didn't speak Italian they tried to speak english which was a relief after the places we had been to

Leaving Grangusto we were stuffed , we made our way back to the hotel through the busy streets of Naples.Opening the door to the room , we quickly got our bags ready for the morning and climbed into bed and drifted to sleep and that ends our amazing trip to Naples.

Day Four In Naples Italy // Terrible Trains // Pompeii // Food Poisoning

As usual l had my breakfast , went back up and got ready to go to pompeii , we looked up the train routes to pompeii from Naples and headed off on our journey. Getting to the train station we bought tickets from napoli to sorrento and stopped at pompei scavi. The train journey was horrible, lt was very hot outside but when you got into the train it was packed. I was sweating so much and felt really light headed and the worse thing was you had to stand while the train was going. I think the trains are a joke over there the door was broken, there were hardly any handles for you to hold on to. lf you were standing , there was a little window up for a bit of a breeze but l recon it got to over 40 degrees in the train.

At Pompeii we made our way off the train and on to the platform , we then made our way to the Pompeii ticket office , we already had our tickets but we wanted to get an audio guide , unfortunely we couldn't get one because you needed ID so instead we decided to take a 2 hour tour guide. I think lf you are going to Pompeii you should have some sort of guide because there is so much to see and there are hardly any information on what you are seeing. I think next time l go to Pompeii I will get an audio guide because l felt like l was rushing around instead of taking my time to look around.

Pompeii was amazing it was a huge city that was covered in ash and lava by the erupting volcano Mount Vesuvius  , the city was then excavated in the 1800's and the artifacts where taken away by rich wealthy people. Today it is amazing of how much you can see and touch, you almost feel like you have been transported back in time . I felt very sad at the parts where you saw the bodies of those who perished especially with the one that had a dead child, The horror they must of gone through on that day. You also got to see the huge statues they had at the time. I have one of me beside the statue of jupiter. I definitely would recommend going  lf you really are into history and want to see what roman life was like.

Going home we took the train back and it was even worst than on the way back , there seemed to be a lot more people and plus we were tired from all the walking that we did in pompeii and on the way there we got to sit for half the journey and on the way back we stood.

Getting off the train in Naples we walked back to the hotel. I've never been so sweaty in all my life it was horrible, l threw off my clothes as soon as l got in the door and jumped into the shower and rested as soon as l got out. Sadly we didn't eat out because of how tired we were from the train journey and walking we decided to eat in the restaurant in the hotel. I got penne with salmon in a tomato sauce , l mean it was okay eating it l think lt tasted reheated and there was hardly any salmon in it. For some reason they served the starter after the main course and l had eggplant with tomato sauce and l think the tomato sauce tasted a bit like heinz tomato soup so i wasn't impressed at all.If you are staying at Palazzo Salgar the hotel is lovely , breakfast seems freshly made and everything else is delicious but don't bother with dinner because later that night I had severe vomiting , chills and felt so lightheaded but l didn't want to say anything because we still had another night left and I wasn't sure if it was heat stroke because we were so hot that day or food posioning so l let it go. So that was my day It was a great one seeing pompeii.

Day Three In Naples Italy // Local Supermarkets // Castel Nouvo // Wedding Anniversary

I woke up again really tired , l think lt's all the walking or the heat that's drawing the energy from my body. This morning for breakfast I had eggs and bacon and after l had tea with a few pastries , l love the food at this hotel it seems freshly made and the breakfast was free with the room that we booked so l was delighted when l found out it was nice.

After breakfast as usual we went up to our room and got ready to go to Castel Nuovo which was about 40 min walk for us because we wanted to take our time so we didn't burn ourselves out. Leaving the hotel we came across a little ice cream shop on our travels , the men didn't speak English but we just pointed out what we wanted, l got a strawberry ice cream and then l got a vanilla ice cream with pistachio nuts in it in the same cone.My hands became very sticky after the ice cream dripped down the cone but it was lovely and kept me cool.

After which seemed like a long walk we reached Castel Nuovo, it was massive , it reminded me of Game of thrones because of all the castles in it. Inside you had a few museums of artwork and statues , there was also a chapel and a massive hall with medieval architecture. I was a little disappointed because l wanted to see more than what they showed lt feels like there was more paintings than artifacts from the castle but lt was still good. I thought the tickets to this would be free but lt wasn't, we paid l think 13 euro in but still worth it in my opinion.

After we left the castle , we decided to make our way home and drop into a pizzeria on the way to the hotel as we were starving. It was okay l just thought it was a little overdone and it was too oily. I finished half of it and I left the rest but Stephen loved his pizza , I got a caprese pizza and Stephen got an american pizza which had hot dogs on it and chips , he said it was lovely.

When we got back we celebrated our 3rd wedding Anniversary with a glass of lemoncello that we bought in the hotel.

It wasn't a bad day but my legs aren't liking all this walking and we have pompeii tomorrow , my poor little feet :(

Thanks for reading my blog today

What I'm Bringing In My Liquid Bag Through The Airport

I always feel like you need these when you go on holiday especially when you're in a hot country like Naples. They are great for making you feel freshened up or if you get too sweaty under your bits you can clean yourself up without having a shower.

Very important when you are in a hot country like Italy, I got factor 50 because I have very pale skin

and needed it. I got it in travel size that way its easy to carry around instead of a big tube. I think next time I will go for a broad spectrum sun cream as that protects you from everything from the sun.

Next is a shampoo , when I'm on holiday l love to get different shampoos in travel size and that way if I like it I can buy the full  size bottle when I get home :)  The shampoo I got is from Tresemm√© and it is called Keratin smooth. It is suppose to last you seven days which I hope it does but I think I will be using it alot on on holiday.

Another essential I bought was anti perspirant from Nivea in the range Pearl & Beauty. Its suppose to give you 48 hours of protection but l found l needed to apply it twice or maybe three times so l doubt it gives you that much protection. It smells lovely and l find it doesn't leave white streaks on my clothes.

I love my simple moisturisers, they are so great on my skin and don't block my pores but I picked up the wrong one, l picked up the light moisturiser when l should of picked up the rich one.My skin gets very dry and even in Ireland light is not strong enough. I think l will just use it and if l need to pick up another one I will .

I got this benefit mascara at Christmas and l think it's the perfect travel size for holidays. It is one of my favourite mascaras. Unfortunately once it is gone I won't be getting another one because l'm going cruelty free with my cosmetics and I found out recently Benefit tests on animals and I feel bad knowing I'm contributing to an animal's pain and suffering :(

Now l don't know if lipsticks are considered liquids but I thought I'd throw them in just in case , I don't want security to take them away. Here I have my butter lipstick from NYX and Firebird from Gwen Stefani's Urban Decay range. I wanted two colours that reflected summer time for me and l also wanted one l can wear during the day and one for night time so these were perfect.

Next is my wake me up concealer from Rimmel , its a life saver when you have spots or anything you want to cover up , I find this really great at blending in with your foundation . Sometimes I don't wear foundation and when I put this on you wouldn't notice it but still covers up. So I had to pack this one. Its very creamy so it doesn't such the life out of your skin ;)

This foundation is nearly gone and its from Oriflame , I won't

be repurchasing this one either because it tests on animals and I'm not supporting that but it is an amazing foundation, perfect for my skin which is such a pity.

I have to have Vaseline wherever I go, my lips get very dry on the plane and they start to feel very uncomfortable so this stuff is great. It's small so it doesn't take up that much space in your bag and plus the lid is very secure .I consider it an essential.

I don't buy balms anymore because
l find that Vaseline is the best for making your lips moist and you could also use it for a shine over your lipstick too.

Toothpaste is definitely another essential  to bring with you , l got these travel sizes from Superdrug and they were going cheap. This bottle was a 25ml and lasted two people for a whole week definitely worth getting if you are going on holidays.

The last thing I'm bringing with me is my liquid eyeliner , I don't think I will use this much but if your going out at night and you have a smoky eye , I love to do a winged line and this liquid eye liner is good for doing that  because it is a thick and thin eyeliner it is easy to to do a think and thick line with this. I wouldn't call this an essential but it doesn't take much space so I threw it into my bag.

Down below is a youtube video of what I'm bringing in my liquid bag through the Airport.

Thank you so much for taking your time to read my blog and if you would love to read more you can follow me or add me to your circles . If you have any questions please comment below and l will answer them for you .

Day Two In Naples Italy // Archaeological museum // First Pizza // Looking for an ATM

So I woke up to a very hot day in Naples I think it was over 33 degrees , it felt like the hottest day . I had to rush to get showered before l went for breakfast. We went down and there was a lovely selection of sweet and savoury to choose from since it was my first full day l chose the sweet stuff but in the end l think l should of chosen some savoury as well as it became too much. After breakfast we went back up to our room to get ready . I opened the curtains and l looked out the window and l could see a beautiful castle in the distance so we decided to go there tomarrow.

After l had gotten ready we left the hotel and decided we wanted to go to the train station. We weren't planning on taking the train but Stephen wanted to know where it was and wanted to know what trains go to Pompeii and how to get there, when we arrived there it was so busy and it's like a shopping centre in there as well so we went and had a look. I decided that we needed to draw money out to go to the archaeological museum and for any little bits we might wanted so we spent like an hour trying to find one in this huge train centre and when we did find one it wasn't working so we decided to leave it and head for the museum.

On our trip to the museum , we must of drank litres of water and we still felt really thirsty and we came across some crazy drivers , when your in Naples traffic lights and crossings are just a suggestion people don't stop for you and even when you have right of way on the crossing drivers still shout at you so you have to make a run for it and hope for the best.

Getting to the museum , the museum was amazing it was so big , it would be like four times of a normal museum in Dublin.

It held loads of Roman, Greek and Egyptian statues along with mosaics , paintings and there was also a large Pompeii section where you could look at all the artifects from the city, I can't wait to go to Pompeii on Wednesday its going to be so fun and interesting. I think my favourite part of the museum was the garden in the centre of it outside , lt held loads of huge artifacts and a giant head in the centre.

After we left the museum we decided to head back to the hotel as it was getting late and we were hungry, we stopped by out our first pizzeria called vesi and it was amazing the pizza was huge with a very thin crust , I could hardly eat it all I was stuffed , I would defintely recommend it if you ever come to Naples.

After we had finished we began walking again and came across a street with loads of shops and tiny stalls , l bought 3 magnets as souvenirs .Think l might go back there tomorrow , it was so interesting to see all the different foods that were for sale.

So we got back to our hotel and I was suffering so bad with heat stroke , I had to drink loads of water with a painkiller for my headache and I took a cold shower and put loads of moisturiser on to my skin , l felt like all the energy was drained out of me and l could barely walk. I'm feeling better now but next time l'm not going to stay out in the sun as long.

So that was my second day in Naples. Tomorrow we plan to eat more food , see Castel Dell Ovo and lf we finish that early go somewhere else.

Will see you all tomorrow

Lots of Love

Day One In Naples Italy // Lessons learn't // Seeing the Alps

We left our house at 2 am to get to Dublin and we arrived at the airport around 4 am, we spent time looking around duty free and yes I bought the Alice through the looking glass palette from Urban Decay. I've been after it for ages and found it in duty free :)

Our flight took off from Dublin at 6:50 and we arrived in Naples at 11:00. We saw some beautiful scenery on the way over such as the Alps , I think l was amazed at just how big and beautiful they were, I would love to go visit there.

The plane landed and as we were getting off the heat just hit us and it felt like being in a sauna especially after getting off a cold plane. We got on to a little shuttle bus that carried us from the plane to the airport. We then had to find the taxi that the hotel organised for us to get from the airport to the hotel as it would the easiest and safest way of getting there.
Arriving at the hotel Palazzo Salgar we were told check in isn't until 2 so we decided to leave our bags with the hotel and go out and find something to eat.

That turned out to be BAD idea be warned that there are some dodgy restaurants in Naples who will con you, we ate our meal at Ristorante la torre and he charged us 60 euros for two main courses and 2 starters with water and some bread. The man was very pushy and rude which made us feel very awkward and since it was our first day here and that we were exhausted we just paid and left but it taught me a valuable lesson to be less trusting and to ask for the price before we order and even at that the prices on the menu and they were cheap so he overcharged us but oh well lesson learn't.

After we checked in , we were brought up to our little room and it was lovely and small but it had everything you need, the drinks in the mini bar weren't expensive a bottle of mini prosecco at 3 euro and water costs 90 cent . I haven't had breakfast here yet but l will let you know what it's like tomorrow

Since we hadn't slept at all that night before we came and because we had to leave at 2 in the morning we decided to go to bed and sleep for the rest of the day , I woke up at around 7pm and then decided to write this blog.

I will have another blog up tomarrow of Day 2 of my little adventures in Naples Italy :)

Orlando Massacre / Christina Grimmie RIP

So this post isn't my normal beauty/food blog so l apologize but I feel like these kind of stories are important to mention and l hate that these stories are becoming the norm when they shouldn't be especially when they come from America. l wish they would change their laws on gun control.
They need to make it much harder for people to obtain them. Here in Ireland you need to get a license and to get a license you need to go to the Garda√≠ / Police, they make sure you don't have any criminal records and that you are mentally okay to have one by getting character references from people who know you, there are a lot of other things you need to do too. Plus the guns you have are mainly for those who like to go hunting so they aren't concealable weapons. It's a lot safer than it is in the states.  but l don't think they will change because people are selfish and when money is thrown in they prefer to chose money than protecting people's lives or as someone once said they like to pretend they are rambo.

I feel so sorry for the families of the Orlando's victims and the family of Christina Grimmie , innocent people who didn't deserve to die, who were out doing what they love , having a great time , then suddenly one man who is crazy gets a gun because of ridiculous gun laws and takes a lot of lives , seems so stupid that they are afraid of isis radicals coming in when they have people in their own country who can and have taken lives.

This is just a short post just to share my thoughts and condolences to their family. RIP

I Need To Go To Rehab For My Make Up Addiction - Recent Purchase's From Urban Decay

So this is going to be a very short post but l have made two recent purchases from Urban Decay that l would love to share with you because l love to see lf other people have bought these and l would like to hear your opinions on it .I bought the Shadowbox from Urban Decay and the Gwen Stefani Lipstick in the shade Firebird. I'm going to show you the Shadowbox first and then the Gwen Stefani Lipstick. l'm not going to say much about them because l only got them a few days ago .

First l'm going to start with the box, lt comes in this beautiful box , it looks like there is purple petals on it with the name of the palette of it in raised lettering.I think it looks very pretty.

On to the actual palette , it is similar to the box in where it has petals and the same colouring. I like the UB metal bit that helps you open the palette and it has a magnetic bit on to the palette so it closes securely. I find how small this palette is very cute and very convenient for bring away.

Inside the palette you have 12 shades , there is only one matte eyeshadow which is the blackout shade and in my opinion it is a true black. Also included in this palette are a few shimmers and satins, all of these look lovely swatched.

The names of these shadows starting from the top to bottom are Sin, Indo, Bordello, Tornado, Smog, Blackout, Flash, Mushroom, Lost, Freelove, Moonshadow and Baked Cowboy.

My favourites are Indo (a emerald green satin), Freelove (a peachy satin shade), flash (a light purple satin, a bit powdery) and lost ( a dark bronze shimmery shade) they are so pigmented and look beautiful even just in the palette. I would say some of the shadows crumble when you swatch them but its still workable l'd say. I think you would get some fall out with the darker shades.

I can't wait to use this palette, l'm just a little worried about how much fallout this palette will have and l also find how powdery some of the shadows are a little annoying.

When I ordered this lipstick I knew what it was going to be like because I got some samples when I ordered the Gwen Stefani eye shadow palette. I loved this shade from when l first put on my lips , l wasn't much of a fan of the other shades but this one really stood out.It looks darker in the stick than it does on your lips.

It is a fuschia pink that is very creamy and so easy to put on. l think you might need a lip liner with this but l just love the colour. Its a very glossy lipstick and it's so perfect for summer. It doesn't last all day but leaves a slight stain on your lips and its worth it having to apply twice because its very pigmented and beautiful.

I loved these purchases and I loved showing you what l got. I really think Urban Decay is great for eye shadows and lipsticks. If you tried these please comment below and tell me what you thought of them.

Thank you so much for reading my blog, lf you would like to follow me you can by adding my facebook, twitter and google which are on the right.
